Former Buff Cass Gray Named To Canadian Olympic Alpine Team
January 28, 2026 | Skiing
BOULDER - Former Colorado women's alpine skier Cass Gray has been named to Canada's Olympic team, earning her second consecutive trip to the Winter Games.
Gray skied for the Buffs during the 2021 season and left an immediate mark, capturing the NCAA national championship in the giant slalom. Following her season in Boulder, the Panorama, British Columbia native continued her rise on the international stage, becoming a fixture on the World Cup circuit.
Gray previously represented Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics, where she was the youngest member of the Canadian alpine team. Four years later, she returns to the Games in a much different role, now one of the more experienced athletes on Canada's roster after multiple seasons competing against the world's top skiers.
With Gray's selection, she becomes the eighth known Buff that will compete in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games and the sixth current or former member of the Colorado ski team to do so. She joins fellow CU ski Olympians Joanne Reid, Ryder Sarchett, Hugo Hinckfuss, Alvar Alev and Jakob Moch.
Gray is also part of a broader group of former CU students competing at the Games, alongside freeski halfpipe standout Svea Irving and snowboarder Stacy Gaskill.
Opening Ceremonies will air live Friday, Feb. 6, at Noon MT on NBC.
