LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Colorado women's basketball team (14-7, 5-4 Big 12) remains on the road this weekend to play Kansas (13-9, 3-7 Big 12) at Allen Fieldhouse on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. MT.
The Buffs will face the Jayhawks for the first time this season and for the 71st time in program history. Colorado last faced off against Kansas last season in Boulder, where the Buffs defeated the Jayhawks, 84-76 (Jan. 11, 2025).
On Thursday, the Buffs made their way to the Sunflower State to take on Kansas State (Jan. 29). Colorado took the lead early in the first quarter over Kansas State, with the defense not allowing the Wildcats to score for the first three minutes. The Buffs maintained their lead into the second until K-State battled back. CU ended the half ahead by four, keeping the lead throughout the third quarter. The Wildcats tried to come back in the fourth, but the Buffaloes went on a final run to secure their first road win of the season, 56-47.

- CU is led by 10th-year head coach JR Payne, who has led the Buffs to a 178-123 (.591) record as CU's eighth head women's basketball coach. Coach Payne has been extended through the 2028 season and has led the Buffs to three NCAA appearances, two WNIT appearances and one WBIT appearance.
- In its second year back in the Big 12, Colorado was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Colorado is 114-153 (.427) overall in Big 12 conference play.
- The Buffs return four from the 2024-25 roster: Sr. F Jade Masogayo, So. G Kennedy Sanders, 5th C JoJo Nworie and So. F Tabitha Betson.
- Colorado welcomes 10 newcomers for the 2025-26 season, five transfers and five freshmen. The five transfers include Jr. G Zyanna Walker (Kansas State), Jr. G Desiree Wooten (North Texas), Jr. G Claire O'Connor (Gonzaga), Jr. G Maeve McErlane (DePaul) and Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat (Rhode Island). The five freshmen include G Erianna Gooden (Fork Smith, Ark./Northside H.S.), C Jade Crook (Albury, Australia/Basketball Australia Center of Excellence/Lake Ginninderra College), G Isa Hämäläinen (Lorentzweiler, Luxembourg/European School of Luxembourg 1), F Logyn Greer (Lansdowne, Pa./Friends' Central School) and F Sophie Zadel (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights H.S).
- Jr. G Zyanna Walker is tied for third in conference for steals per game (2.3), 20th for free throw percentage (71.6%) and 20th for assists per game (2.8). Against Kansas State, her former school, she put up her first double-double of the season, second of her career, with 13 points and 10 rebounds (Jan. 29).
- Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is second in the Big 12 for rebounds per game (8.6), and she leads the conference for total offensive rebounds (80) and offensive rebounds per game (3.8). She is also tied for 12th for steals per game (1.9). Versus Kansas State, AD had eight rebounds (five offensive) and an assist (Jan. 29).
- Sr. F Jade Masogayo is 16th in conference for free throw percentage (75.8%) and tied for 17th for blocks per game (0.8). Masogayo had 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and a block at Kansas State (Jan. 29).
- Fr. F Logyn Greer is tied for 17th in the Big 12 for blocks per game (0.8). Greer had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal versus KState (Jan. 29).
- Jr. G Desiree Wooten was the fourth Buff in double-figures against Kansas State with 11 points, one rebound, an assist and a block (Jan. 29)
- As a team, the Buffs are third in the Big 12 for rebounding margin (6.8), fourth for steals per game (10.48), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (13.8), sixth for scoring defense (60.0), seventh for rebounds per game (38.9) and seventh for turnover margin (2.33).
