Buffs Host Arizona State Saturday On Senior Day

BOULDER – The 15th-ranked Colorado women's lacrosse team (11-3, 3-1 Big 12) will wrap up the regular season against Arizona State (8-8, 3-1 Big 12) at 12 p.m. on Saturday at Kittredge Field.
The Buffaloes return home after playing two games on the road. The first came just up the road against No. 18 Denver. Rachel Kennedy led the way, scoring five goals to secure the win 9-6. Colorado followed up with a convincing 13-6 victory over UC Davis in the final road game of the regular season.
Against UC Davis, senior defender Jess Peluso recorded three caused turnovers, which gave her the overall school record. She now sits at 99 for her career.
Following the games sophomore goalkeeper Elena Oh and senior midfielder Lily Assini both earned conference weekly honors. Oh, after recording five saves and only allowing six goals in both games, she earned her sixth Goalkeeper of the Week honor this season. Assini finished the week with five goals and an assist. She earned her second Midfielder of the Week award this season.
This Saturday's game against the Sun Devils will be the 14th meeting between the teams in program history. The last time the two teams played, Arizona State defeated Colorado in the Big 12 Tournament Semifinals, 18-12.
Following the game, Colorado will honor its seniors for their impact on the program. The seniors being honored are Maddie Shoup, Rachel Kennedy, Mack Hanlon, Jess Peluso, Molly Reed, Lily Assini, Mary Carson, and Caity Brower.
