2011: Indoor: Balbier focused on the middle distances, running the 800 and 1,000-meters. She set a personal record of 2:17.41 at the Husker Invite (2/5) and placed eighth overall. At the Big 12 Championships Balbier participated in the 1,000, placing 12^th in the prelims with a time of 2:54.53.

Outdoor: Balbier ran in a pair of races for the Buffs. She placed sixth in the 800 at the CU Invite (4/9) with a time of 2:17.01. Balbier then raced the 1,500 at the Mt. SAC Relays (4/15) and finished in 4:30.53.

HIGH SCHOOL: Balbier owns DHHS records in the 800 (2:13), 1,600 (5:54) and on the cross country course (16:54). She also owns the South Coast League 800 record (2:13, which was set in May, 2009). Balbier was all-league and all-county in track and cross country all four years of high school.

PERSONAL: Balbier was born on July 6, 1991 in Westlake Village, Calif. She is the daughter of Tom and Karen Balbier and has one sister, Karen. She lists surfing and snowboarding as her hobbies.
