WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
I have been attending CU football games my whole life. When I was younger I thought that Ralphie was the main reason people came to watch CU football. I learned years later that my dad was taking us to watch Ralphie, but HE was going to watch football which I now love watching too.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie represents CU Boulder as a whole to me. She has been part of our school's history for over 50 years and images of her can be found all over campus. To attend CU is to know and love Ralphie which creates connection between students and alumni.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part about being a Ralphie Handler is all of the intense training that goes into making sure game days go as smoothly as possible--through sprint training, hours in the weight room, and continual practice runs.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part of being a Ralphie Handler is the team. I've been in team sports since I was three years old and I've never been in an environment that is as encouraging and supportive as this one.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
People are most surprised by how much work goes into the runs. We have workouts a minimum of twice a week that consist of an hour of sprint and mobility training followed by an hour lift.
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
How much personality she has. She has a unique relationship with everyone on the team and can be quite playful once she gains confidence in you joining her herd.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Hiking/backpacking, anything with dogs, weightlifting, cooking, music, and travel.
