WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
Coming from an agricultural and cattle ranching background, I was seeking an opportunity at CU to engage with livestock and large animals. I also was looking for a team to be a part of where I could share experiences and bond with students. I feel like I really found both of those things once I became a Ralphie Handler.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie symbolizes the rich tradition of the University of Colorado, and as a handler, I take much pride in that legacy. Ralphie is more than just a mascot to me, and fosters a sense of unity and connection across our campus.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Ralphie Handler is the training and learning how to balance that with your academic studies. We have morning workouts with conditioning and strength training, as well as evening practices with Ralphie. Although it can be challenging at times, the rewards and experiences make it all worthwhile.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part of being a Ralphie Handler is the opportunity to work alongside an incredible team. The shared experiences with my teammates foster a sense of camaraderie among us. I love every member of my team and highly value the memories we have together.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
People are usually surprised when I tell them about the training that goes in to being a Ralphie Handler. It oftentimes surprises people how much time we dedicate to workouts, as well as to training Ralphie.
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
After becoming a Ralphie Handler I was surprised when I found out how gentle and playful Ralphie truly is. She is always a pleasure to be around.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Outside of school and the team, I enjoy spending time with friends doing anything outdoors. I also love playing guitar, exercising, and hunting and fishing when I can.
