WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
My interest in the Ralphie Program first came to be when I was touring the University of Colorado’s campus in high school. My tour guide told me that students had the opportunity to try out to become a Ralphie Handler and it immediately made me interested in becoming a part of this amazing tradition. Once I became a student and saw Ralphie run in person for the first time, I knew that I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try out for the team. The mere strength, determination, grace, and dignity of Ralphie’s run caught my attention right away and was inspiring.

WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie is the face of the University of Colorado. She embodies all that the University stands for and is a symbol of pride and tradition. To me, Ralphie is the epitome of excellence, strength, and honor. She truly is the best live mascot in sports.

WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Ralphie Handler is the time management that comes with being a student athlete. It can be a challenge to balance school work with all of our duties as Handlers, but it is well worth the effort.

WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part about being a Ralphie Handler is the Ralphie community that you gain access to. Being able to be a part of the Ralphie Handler team and gaining an amazing group of friends has added so much value to my college experience.

WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
Most people are surprised by how much training and preparation goes into running Ralphie. Many people are unaware of how many hours the Ralphie Handlers put in each week in order to stay physically fit, to gain experience in running Ralphie, and to care for Ralphie and make sure she is happy.

WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The thing that surprised me the most after becoming a Ralphie Handler was how intelligent buffalo truly are. Ralphie has her own distinct personality and knows each Handler individually. I was also very surprised about how much faster Ralphie appears to be when you are on the field next to her versus in the stands watching her.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I love all things outdoors, but I especially enjoy archery, fishing, skiing, dirt biking, hiking, and hunting.
