WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
I grew up on a cattle ranch in southern Colorado so I loved being able to work with livestock and all animals. I also enjoyed playing numerous sports in high school. After deciding that CU was the right school for me I attended all the football games freshman year, I knew that being a Ralphie Handler was the best way to combine my love for both sports and animals.
Â
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie is a huge part of the university. She exemplifies the amazing traditions that CU has on and off
campus. She is a symbol of strength, perseverance, and determination. There is no better tradition in college sports than running with Ralphie.
Â
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Ralphie Handler is all the hard work each Handler must put in to make sure they are at their peak in fitness and making sure Ralphie is well taken care of. With that being said, it is also the most rewarding getting to build a relationship with her and seeing all the progress made.
Â
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part about being a Ralphie Handler is getting to work and care for the best mascot in college sports along with my teammates. We're all a family on the team, and we push each other to be the best.
Â
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
The thing that surprises people the most when they ask about being a Ralphie Handler is that she is actually a female bison.
Â
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A
RALPHIE HANDLER?
The thing that surprised me the most about being a Ralphie Handler is the physical level that we must have in order to run with her. We have to train our bodies to the max in order to run with her safely.
Â
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
My hobbies are pretty much anything outdoors like backpacking, snowboarding, running, hiking, fishing, and off-roading.
