WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
Watching Ralphie and her handlers charge down the field before every home football game is such a thrill. The first time I came to a home football game, I knew I wanted to try out and be part of the greatest tradition in all of college sports.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie is a symbol of the University of Colorado. She embodies the traditions and culture that the university has upheld since it was founded in 1876.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Ralphie Handler is juggling school work and the time commitment of being on the team. We commit a lot of time every week to making sure that we are in peak physical condition to be able to run with Ralphie. Not only do we spend time in the gym, but we also spend time with Ralphie on her ranch to make sure that she is well taken care of and happy.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part of being a Ralphie Handler is seeing the pure joy and excitement of all the fans as we bring Ralphie to a game or appearance. It truly makes me happy to see how ecstatic Ralphie makes her fans and those around to see her.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The thing that surprises people the most when they ask me about being a Ralphie handler is the amount of work it takes to get Ralphie ready to run at football games. Most people are not aware of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes before games and appearances.
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The one thing that surprised me the most after becoming a Ralphie Handler is how intelligent Ralphie is. Once you start spending time with her, she starts to recognize your scent and she will be very friendly with you. She also knows exactly what is going on during game days. She knows that when she is on the field before a game, it is time to run.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I grew up in Colorado, so I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors related. I enjoy hiking and running and spending time with my friends and family.
