Bio
WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE RALPHIE PROGRAM?
Being a Colorado native, I've dreamed of going to the University of Colorado and becoming a Ralphie Handler. It's the best mascot in all of college sports and a one of a kind tradition. I remember growing up and thinking how incredible of an experience is must be for these college students to run with Ralphie and how much work they put in to make it successful. I always wanted to be a Buff and run with one too.
WHAT DOES RALPHIE MEAN TO YOU?
Ralphie is the primary image and ambassador to the University. She leads our football team out onto the field and captures the attention of everyone around her. She represents the nature of our school, the state of Colorado, and is the most famous and recognizable live mascot in college athletics. She brings us together as a team, a community, and a fan base for CU.
WHAT'S THE HARDEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The hardest part of being a Handler is managing your time effectively around gamedays, appearances, workouts, practices, and classes to make sure you're doing well in the classroom and supporting the team too.
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
The best part of being a Handler is the camaraderie and friendships that you make with the other Handlers on the team. We become a family throughout the year with as much time as we spend together and with Ralphie and we all need each other to work safely and successfully.
WHAT'S ONE THING THAT SURPRISES PEOPLE THE MOST WHEN THEY ASK YOU ABOUT BEING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
People are normally surprised about the amount of time and work that goes into becoming a trained and successful Handler other than just gamedays. We have workouts and practices multiple times a week as well as work at Ralphie's ranch and other appearances throughout the year to represent the program.
WHAT'S ONE THING ABOUT RALPHIE THAT SURPRISED YOU THE MOST AFTER BECOMING A RALPHIE HANDLER?
I was surprised to find out how loyal and familiar Ralphie can be to the people she knows. The team isn't too big so she ends up having a relationship and becoming familiar with each Handler.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
I love skiing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends as much as possible. I'm normally always happy to go to a concert or watch football on TV too.
