2017: Indoor: Ghizzone had an impressive indoor season. He posted a 5,405 score at the CSM Alumni Classic & Multi, a score that broke a 17-year old school record in the heptathlon. He competed in two more heptathlons, finishing first at the Colorado Open (5,223) and seventh at the MPSF Championships (5,348), earning a pair of points towards the team score. At the Colorado Open, Ghizzone recorded the best pole vault (16-0.75) in a heptathlon in CU history. Ghizzone ended the season with CU indoor bests in the 1,000-meters (2:38.81), pole vault and heptathlon.
Outdoor: Ghizzone enjoyed a successful junior outdoor season, setting a fair share of personal records for himself throughout the season. He earned a PR of 7,045 at the California Invitational, which was seventh overall. Then at the Pac-12 Championships, he was fifth with a total score of 6,925. During the season, he record several other personal bests, including the 100-meter dash (11.28), the 110-meter hurdles (14.30) and the long jump (22-2.25).

2016: Indoor: Ghizzone competed in four heptathlons as a sophomore and recorded the fourth best mark in CU history (5,262) at the CSM Alumni Classic (12/11/15). He was 13th in the heptathlon at the MPSF Championships (5,111), his third best score of the year. Ghizzone also competed in several open events. He cleared 5-11.75 in the pole vault at the Don Kirby Invite (2/13), which put him seventh on CU’s all-time performers list.Â
Outdoor: Ghizzone saw action in three decathlons as a sophomore. He became the ninth best performer in the decathlon after recording a PR 6,876 points, which placed fourth in the ‘A’ section of the California Invite. Ghizzone was 10th in his other two decathlons, notching 6,845 points at Texas Relays and 6,724 points at the Pac-12 Championships. While competing at Texas Relays, he set a PR of 16-0.75 in the pole vault, which ranks second in CU decathlon history. During the season, Ghizzone also set PRs in the 100-meters (11.49) and shot put (37-3).

2015: Indoor: Ghizzone had a great first season with the Buffs, becoming the sixth best performer in CU heptathlon history with 5,020 points, which is also the 11th best score by a Buff. He recorded the score at the MPSF Championships and placed ninth overall. His pole vault mark (6-9) is the CU heptathlon record as he surpassed the previous mark of 15-7 from 2001 and his 1,000-meter time was just shy of the record (2:36.03 from 2010).Â
Outdoor: Ghizzone competed in three decathlons for the Buffs. His personal record of 6,670 came at the Pac-12 Championships, which placed him 11th. His 1,500 time set the CU decathlon record. Ghizzone went on to compete at the USA Junior Championships and placed 10th with a score of 6,522. Â

HIGH SCHOOL: Ghizzone recorded several All-American honors while in high school, three in the shuttle hurdles, two in the sprint medley relay and one in the decathlon. He also owns several school, county and state records. He is the Union County and UCHS pole vault record holder (16-0) and was part of the Union County sprint medley relay record setting team (3:26.02). Ghizzone ranks second all-time in New Jersey in the decathlon (6,579). He is the conference record holder in the pole vault and decathlon, and was a member of the sprint medley relay, distance medley relay and 4x800 relay teams that set conference records. Ghizzone received several all-state, all-conference and all-country honors his sophomore through senior seasons. He was a member of the honor roll all four years of high school. Ghizzone recorded four letters on the track team and was a member of the cross country team where he earned four more letters. He was recruited by Cincinnati, Rutgers, Wake Forest and Oklahoma.

PERSONAL: Andrew William Ghizzone was born on July 16, 1996 in Summit, N.J. He is the son of Nick and Anne Ghizzone. His brother, Zach, is a combined events athlete at Rutgers. He also has one younger sister, Allyson. His father Nick was also a track athlete at Seton Hall. Ghizzone can ride the unicycle and juggle. He enjoys hiking, biking, rafting and running. Ghizzone is fluent in sign language as to communicate with his mother, who has been deaf her whole life. Ghizzone and his brother have combined for 15 All-American certificates.
