2010: Indoor: Gajewski recorded personal records in the shot put and the weight throw during the 2010 season; both coming at the Air Force Invite. She launched a toss of 31-09.25 in the weight throw to place 41st (2/12). The following day Gajewski recorded a throw of 33-10.75 in the shot put, placing 34th overall.
Outdoor: The outdoor season saw Gajewski earning another two PR’s, both at the Fum McGraw meet (5/8). She was eighth in the shot put after she recorded a mark of 34-07.50. She took 15th in the weight throw with a toss of 94-05. Gajewski’s season-best in the discus was 95-06 which she recorded at the CU Invite (4/11).
2009: Indoor: Gajewski threw the shot put and weight throw during the indoor season. She came away with a season best of 33-08 in the shot put during the first meet of the season, the Air Force All-Comers Meet (1/16). The best throw for Gajewski in the weight throw also came at the Air Force Academy, just one month later at the Air Force Invite with a heave of 33-03.
Outdoor: The outdoor campaign saw Gajewski continue with the shot put, but she also competed in the discus. Gajewski’s best throw in the shot put was 33-01 at the Potts Invite (3/21) where she placed 11th overall. Her season best in the discus was 97-00, which also came in Boulder at the CU Invite (4/11) and was good for 17th.
HIGH SCHOOL: Gajewski was a four-year letter winner at SRRHS. She was a member of the 2007 state championship and 2007 and 08 regional championship team. The Scorpions also took second at the state meet her senior year. Gajewski won the state championship as a senior and was the runner-up in 2007 to earn the team’s Most Outstanding Field Athlete honor both seasons. She placed seventh at state in the discus (2008) and was fifth in 2007. Gajewski was all-region in the shot put and discus both seasons and was all-state in the shot put both years as well.
ACADEMICS: Gajewski is majoring in pre-communications and sociology. She has a GPA greater than 3.0 and is a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Gajewski was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Second Team in 2010. She was a member of the National Honor Society in high school.
PERSONAL: Kali Gajewski was born on March 12, 1990 in Sedona, Ariz. She is the daughter of William Gajewski and Cook Marquez. Her father played football at Carnage Mellon. She lists lifting, reading and spending time with her friends as her hobbies.
