2018: Indoor: Walker competed in the shot put and weight throw during her 2018 indoor season.. At the Colorado School of Mines Alumni meet, she earned first place in the shot put after throwing a mark of 46-7.25/14.20, and later in the season at the Air Force Open she also took home first place in the same event with a mark of 47-7.00/14.50. Her season best mark in the weight throw was at the MPSF Championships where she took home 19th place and threw a distance of 50-9.50/15.48.
Outdoor: Walker competed in three events on the field during the outdoor season. In the discus, her best mark of the season was 154-11.00/47.23 at the Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge in March and she placed eighth. She saw success in the hammer throw at the Tom Benich Invitational in March where she threw a distance of 144-00.00/43.89. She threw a season best of 48-11.75/14.93 in the shot put at the Wyoming 7220 Invite and placed second.
 
2017: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Did not compete.
 
2016: Indoor: Walker moved into CU’s top five all-timer performers list in the shot put and weight throw as a sophomore. She recorded a personal record throw of 48-11.75 in the shot put at the Air Force Open (1/8), which was second overall. Her PR in the weight throw came at the Rocky Mountain Classic (2/19), where she placed fourth with a 55-2.75 mark. She competed in both events at the MSPF Championships. Walker placed 13th in the shot put (45-6.50) and 19th in the weight throw (53-2.25).
Outdoor: Walker had a great sophomore campaign, launching personal bests in all three of her throwing events. She became the second best shot put thrower in CU history after tossing a mark of 51-7.25 to win the CSM Invite. Walker recorded her other two personal records at the Air Force Twilight. She notched a mark of 148-9.75 in the hammer throw for fifth place and had a mark of 157-5.25 for second place in the discus. Walker threw the shot put and the hammer at the Pac-12 Championships. She finished 10th in the shot put (49-0.25) and was 13th in the discus (143-11).
 
2015: Indoor: Walker led the Buffs in the shot put as a freshman. She won the Rocky Mountain Classic (2/20) with a season best throw of 47-6.50 which placed her seventh on CU’s all-time performers list. Walker’s second best toss of the season (45-11.25) came at the MPSF Championship where she finished 13th. She also competed in the weight throw. She launched a season best of 53-0 at the Potts Invite (1/17) and placed fifth.
Outdoor: Walker became one of the best CU shot put throwers as just a freshmen. She ranks fifth on the all-time performers list with a mark of 47-10 from the Jack Christiansen Invite (4/25). That throw is the best by a Buff since 2001. At that same meet, Walker recorded personal bests in the hammer throw (139-1) and discus (145-10). She competed in the shot put and hammer at the Pac-12 Championships. Walker placed 10th in the shot put (45-6.25) and was 12th in the discus (133-7). She also competed at the USA Junior Championships in the shot put (43-5.75).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Walker owns a pair of SCHS records, as well as several other miscellaneous meet records, and was coached by her older sister, Montoya Walker. Her shot put record is 47-7 and her discus record is 145-0. She is the 2013 and ’14 Colorado State 4A Shot Put Champion and was also fourth at the state championship in 2012. Walker was named a Rotary Champion as a senior and was selected to the Denver Post All-Colorado Girls Track and Field team as a junior and senior. During the summer of 2014, she won the shot put at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a throw of 46-2, placed sixth in the discus and was 16th in the hammer throw. Walker was highly recruited by Nebraska, Wichita State, Oregon State, Oregon, Colorado State and many others.
 
IN THE CLASSROOM: Walker is a chemical engineering major.     
 
PERSONAL: Mariah Karen Walker was born on March 23, 1996. She is the daughter of John and Mirta Walker and has two siblings. She enjoys art and writing.
