High School

Smith made an impression with her outstanding play in her two seasons at Sumter High School in South Carolina. During the 2014 season, she hammered 280 kills and hit .381. Smith also added 82 blocks and 51 aces in 89 sets played. She recorded 183 kills and 60 blocks in 73 sets and hit .319 in 2013.

She was the SHS MVP in 2013 and ’14. Both seasons she was also named the best offensive player. As a senior, Smith earned all-state recognition. Smith was also a member of the basketball team at SHS. Smith was a highly recruited prep athlete with Washington State, Georgia State, UNLV, Colorado State, Illinois, UCLA, USC and many others pursing her.

Personal

Zuri Smith is the daughter of Herman Smith and Arteresa Smith-Hairston and was born on April 6, 1998 in Portland, Ore. Her father is the football coach at Victor Valley College and also played professionally in the NFL and CFL.

Academics

Smith is undecided on a major, but is interested in hospitality.
