Swanson led the Buffaloes to a tie for third in their season opener, the Washington State Palouse Collegiate.
- He tied for fifth overall (with fellow Buff sophomore Parker Paxton), but had a more pristine scorecard en route to carding a 10-under par 203 on the Palouse Ridge Golf Course layout.
- He opened with 35 straight holes of par or better, and would finish with 12 birdies and 40 pars – with only two bogeys.
- All three of his rounds were in the 60s (68-66-69), and he played all configurations even or subpar (7-under on the par-5s, 3-under on the par-4s and even on the par-3’s).
- He led the 83-man field with the 40 total pars. (In two Palouse Collegiate events, he has two top 5 finishes with 27 birdies, 76 pars and just five bogeys).
