COLORADO TOPS RAMS 84-78

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- David Harrison won the battle of the big men with 19 points and eight rebounds as Colorado defeated Colorado State 84-78 on Wednesday night.
Harrison was 7-for-12 shooting with three big dunks for Colorado (5-1). His counterpart, Matt Nelson, had nine points for Colorado State (4-3). Both men are 7-foot centers.
Matt Williams had 26 points and 10 rebounds for Colorado State. Michel Morandais had 17 points for Colorado.
Colorado broke the game open at the start of the second half with an 11-4 run that included a baby hook and a two-handed dunk by Harrison, giving the Buffaloes a 53-42 lead.
Williams hit two layups to bring Colorado State to within 69-61, but Morandais hit four free throws, the second two after a technical foul on Colorado State coach Dale Layer with 8:11 remaining.
Layer was ejected on his second technical with 2:43 left.
Glean Eddy sealed the victory with four free throws in the final 1:14. Eddy was 10-of-11 from the charity stripe, both career highs. His 14 points and three steals were also personal bests.
Colorado led 42-38 at the break despite a limited contribution from Harrison, who was 4-for-6 with nine points in the first half.
Colorado State built an 18-9 lead as Freddy Robinson made his first four shots and scored 12 points. But Morandais had four points in an 11-0 run as Colorado pulled ahead 20-18.
It was Colorado's fourth straight victory and its fourth straight over Colorado State.
