BOULDER - Colorado junior Morgan Sall of Miami, Fla., was tabbed as the Big 12 Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches from Apr. 1-7, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Sall captured her 10th straight triumph in singles after winning a pair of matches for the No. 37 Buffaloes. She downed Kansas State's Andrea Cooper 6-4, 7-6(2) last Saturday and then defeated Kansas' Luiza Loureiro 6-3, 7-6(4) the next day to keep her consecutive win streak intact and move to 11-2 in No. 6 singles. Sall is also the lone conference tennis player at her respective slot to remain unbeaten (5-0).
For the 2002-03 academic year, Sall improved her singles mark to 21-7. She has joined Nos. 4 and 5 singles standouts Kendra Strandemo and Jessica Vanderdys to roll to a composite 29-5 mark in spring singles.
The Colorado women are 10-6 on the season and host conference foes Nebraska (April 12) and Baylor (April 13) this weekend at the Kittredge Tennis Courts on the CU campus. Saturday's match starts at 11 a.m., Sunday begins at 10 a.m.
