
WOMEN'S TENNIS UPSET AT NEBRASKA, 5-2

LINCOLN, Neb. ? Kendra Strandemo and Martina Sedivec claimed the lone singles points at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively and the No. 71 nationally ranked Colorado women's tennis team came up short at Nebraska, falling 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Woods Tennis Center on Senior Day.
It was the Buffaloes fourth straight Big 12 road match and drops CU to 6-5 in conference play and 10-9 overall. The Cornhuskers improve to 14-7 and 4-5 in the Big 12.
CU went 2-2 on its four-match road trip and close the regular season at Colorado State this Friday, April 23 at 2 p.m.
After losing all three doubles points, the Buffs saw their deficit worsen when its top two singles slots lost in straight sets.
Strandemo defended her No. 3 position with a 6-4, 6-4 victory and became the third CU student-athlete this spring to win 10 matches at her respective position (No. 3). Strandemo's victory at No. 3 was her sixth win in the last seven matches since March 24.
Sedivec also picked up a point with her straight set victory at No. 5. It was Sedivec's third win in her last four bringing her win total to 11 for the 2003-04 season.
Overall, Jessica Vanderdys leads CU in singles wins for the season with 18, followed by Strandemo (14), Lynzee Kever (11), and Sedivec (11).
