STRANDEMO NAMED BIG 12 CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DALLAS - Colorado junior Kendra Strandemo of Encinitas, Calif., was named women's tennis Co-Big 12 Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the conference office for matches played from Mar. 30-Apr. 5, 2004. Strandemo shares the honor with Texas A&M senior Jessica Roland.
Strandemo, the 2003 Big 12 No. 4 singles champion, tallied the only point in Colorado's 6-1 loss to No. 14 and co-conference-leading Texas A&M. She downed seasoned Robert Spencer of the Aggies 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 as Strandemo raised her No. 3 singles record to 7-2 overall (5-2 in the conference). Strandemo has also won three straight.
Strandemo is the third CU women's tennis student-athlete to earn conference honors this spring. Freshman Lynzee Kever was named player of the week back on Feb. 17, and Morgan Sall was named Co-Player of the Week (Mar. 23).
