Golf 17th at Kent Youel Invite

November 02, 2005 | Women's Golf

MANOA, Hawai'i - The University of Colorado women's golf team finished 17th here on day two of the Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course.

"I think right now we're just looking to regroup for the spring season," said head coach Anne Kelly via cell phone.  "We haven't been able to get anything going at all in the last two tournaments, so we'll use the next 3-4 months to fix what's not working for us.  We have a lot of talent and I know we can get it turned around."

Colorado's highest overall finisher was Lindsay Senger, who took 60th over three rounds.  She opened yesterday with a 74, but was unable to keep it going through the next two rounds, shooting 84 on Tuesday afternoon and 85 today.

Junior Hannah Hoch was one stroke back of Senger at 80-81-83 for 244. Hoch finished in a tie for 64th.  She was followed by senior Maria Persson-Gulda, who carded an 84 today to finish 68th with a score of 245.

Freshman Lindsay Caljouw had the best day today with a nine-over 81; she finished tied for 73rd place.  Lindsay Koth had an 82 on the day, the second best CU round of the day, good for a three round total of 256 and 93rd place.

This was Colorado's final round of the fall season, and the Buffaloes have until February to get the ship righted.  The Fresno State Invitational kicks off at Copper River CC on Monday, Feb. 27.
