Neuman Represents CU At USA Cross Country Champsionship

NEW YORK - The University of Colorado's Kenyon Neuman participated in the USA Cross Country Championships on Sunday afternoon in the junior men's 8k race and placed 42nd. The freshman finished with a time of 26 minutes and 10 seconds. Neuman was the lone active representative for the Buffs at the event.
CU was represented by former athletes in some of the other open races. Adam Goucher took top honors in the men's Open 4k run. Goucher finished in 10:50. Jorge Torres took fourth (10:58) and Steve Slattery came in 14th (11:27). In the Open 12k race, Jorge Torres turned in a second-place finish (34:38) and Dathan Ritzenhein took fourth (35:27).
On the women's side, Kara Goucher earned a seventh-place finish (12:51) in the Open 4k race. Renee Metivier and Sara (Gorton) Slattery finished third and fourth, respectively, in the Open 8k race. Metivier finished in 26:59 and Slattery finished just two seconds later.
