Dodson Leads CU at Iowa State Classic

Ames, Iowa? The University of Colorado ran nine members at the 2007 Iowa State Classic at the Lied Recreation Athletic Facility in Ames, Iowa on Friday. Jeremy Dodson took fourth and Ryan Campbell 12th in the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash.

Dodson ran the 200-meter dash in 21.41, a sophomore transfer, recorded the fourth-best time in CU history in the event. Campbell also ran the 200m and recorded a time o f 21.64. Alabama's Michael Cooley recorded the fastest time in prelims with a time of 21.27, a time that both Dodson and Campbell bested last weekend when they both broke the school record with times of 21.12 and 21.15, respectively.

Chelsea Haverty led the CU women in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.87. Veronica Maul finished right behind Haverty with a time of 26.26.

The Buffs will be back in action tomorrow Feb. 10 in the second day of the Iowa State Classic.
