COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of Colorado volleyball team fell in three to the Texas A&M Aggies (20-25, 11-25, 21-25) on Saturday night.
The loss brings CU to 12-16 overall and 6-12 in the Big 12. Texas A&M improved to 14-14, 9-9. Texas A&M leads the overall series 18-9.
Emilee Sisco recorded a team-high 10 kills. Amber Sutherland and Schylur Edelman each added eight. Alex Buth hammered seven kills and one solo block. Kaitlyn Burkett tallied 33 of CU's 36 total assists.
In the first game, the teams traded points and tied the score seven times. The Buffs came within two points at 22-20 on a kill by Sisco. However, three straight points sealed the victory for the Aggies.
Colorado was held to 11 points in the second game, the second lowest game score this season. Texas A&M went on a six point scoring streak, which extended their lead to 13-7. The Buffs came out strong in the third set and kept the set very close, tying it nine times and exchanging the lead three times. The two teams were tied at 18-18, and the Buffs took the lead at 19-18, but the Aggies scored two kills and went on to win the set 25-21.
The Aggies put up eight total team blocks compared to the Buff's 3.5. CU hit .162 (38k-20e-111att) for the match and Texas A&M hit .402 (44k-9e-87att).
Colorado returns to Boulder for their final home match of the season on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m. The Buffs will host Oklahoma when they celebrate senior night.
