Schleich Falls In ITA First Round

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - University of Colorado sophomore Kristina Schleich lost her opening round match on Saturday at the pre-qualifying 2011 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Schleich fell to junior Emmy Levy of Tulane 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in the Round of 64.  Levy moves on to the Round of 32 to play later on Saturday, while Schleich travels back to Boulder in the single elimination field.

Schleich, a native of Lilienthal, Germany, now has a 5-3 singles record during the fall season.

The CU women's tennis team will remain idle until the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional, Oct. 12-16 in Las Vegas. There the Buffaloes will be one of 19 schools participating in singles and doubles tournament over the five day tournament.

Schleich was one of six Pac-12 women tennis players participating on Saturday in the pre-qualifying round.
