Buffs Compete At The Bronco Invite

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Elizabeth Tremblay placed 14th overall at the Santa Clara University Bronco Invitational to pace the University of Colorado cross country team on Saturday.
Tremblay finished the 5-kilometer race in 17 minutes, 32.5 seconds. Idaho's Hannah Kiser won the meet in 16:55.3.
Courtney Bouchet was the second Buff to cross the finish, doing so in 17:42.4 for 28th place. Kelly King was third for CU, placing 63rd (18:15.7). Staci Foster was 85th (18:24.9) and Becky Popiel rounded out the score for CU, taking 168th (20:00.8). Overall the team placed 11th with 296 points. Long Beach State took first with 94 points.
Matt Biegner led the men's team in the 8k race, coming in 17th overall. He crossed the finish in 24:23.5. Dillon Shije was the second CU harrier to finish, placing 30th overall in 24:34.9. Aric Van Halen was 34th (24:39.1) and Steve Kasica placed 64th (25:14.8). Michael Goodger was the fifth to finish the race, placing 25:23.9. UC Riverside's Chad Hall won the race in 23:48.0.
Overall the men placed fifth with 191 points. Stanford won with 38 points.
The Buffs' varsity team will compete at the NCAA Pre-National Invitational on Sunday in Terre Haute, Ind.
