Harriers Head To Pre-Nationals

BOULDER - The University of Colorado cross country teams are set to compete at the NCAA Pre-National Invitational in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park.
The men's team is the top ranked team in the USTFCCCA poll, while the women's team is ranked No. 2. The Buffs are fresh off winning the men's and women's Division I titles at the Rocky Mountain Shootout two weeks ago and both teams did so in dominate fashion, winning with perfect team scores (15).
Several of the nation's top teams will be competing alongside the Buffs this weekend. The men will see No. 3 Oregon, No. 10 Georgetown and seven other top-30 programs. The women will race against No. 4 Oregon, No. 5 Michigan, No. 7 Georgetown and No. 9 Stanford, as well as three other top-30 teams.
Pre-Nationals is split into two races for the men and women due to the amount of teams competing. The first race is set for 9:30 a.m. ET and will be the men's 8k 'red' race. The women's 6k 'red' race will follow at 10:15 a.m. The 'black' races will follow at 10:45 a.m. (men) and 11:30 a.m. (women). There are also two open races. The men's open race starts at 12 p.m. and the women's race is at 12:45 p.m. Both of CU's teams will compete in the 'red' races, but there will be a couple athletes running in the open races as well.
The University of Louisville is hosting the meet for the second time in four years and will serve as the host of the NCAA Championships on Nov. 21. Results will be posted at www.gocards.com and www.pttiming.com upon the completion of the meet.
