CU To Conclude Season At Utah On Friday

Coming Up
• The Buffs are looking for their second Pac-12 win of the season and to snap their nine-match winless streak with their final match of 2015.
• Friday's match at Utah kicks off at 2 p.m. and will be televised on Pac-12 Mountain.
Senior Day Notes
• The Buffs honored their seven seniors (Kahlia Hogg not included as she is expected to return next season) on Nov. 1 vs. Arizona State.
• The seven have combined for 223 career starts heading into the weekend (Madison Krauser 74, Olivia Pappalardo 55, Emily Paxton 23, Kate Scheele 37, Heather Ward 32, Ashley Love 1, Nikki Machalek).
• The seven have also combined for 24 goals (Krauser 9, Paxton 8, Pappalardo 3, Ward 3, Machalek 1).
Krauser Dishing Assists
• Senior Madi Krauser has transitioned from the attack to playing on the backline this season, however she has found herself in the mix on offense at times.
• She has four assists this season and her 16 career assists rank third all-time in the CU record book.
Scheele Shining on the Field and Off
• Senior goalkeeper Kate Scheele has recorded three shutouts this season and has 14 career clean sheets, which in just her second season at CU, ranks fourth on the all-time list.
• Scheele was also named CoSIDA second team Academic All-District VII, making her the seventh Buff to earn the award in school history.
• Scheels has a 3.89 GPA and is a senior, majoring in history.
November Numbers
• Under head coach Danny Sanchez, the Buffs are 5-5-2 in the month of November, including 3-1-0 last season.
Last Week
• CU hung on for a 3-3 tie vs. No. 21 Arizona on Friday after leading 3-1 in the second half behind goals from Sarah Kinzner, Danica Evans and Brie Hooks.
• Heather Ward scored her second goal of the season in CU's 2-1 loss to Arizona State on Sunday and Kate Scheele had a career-high nine saves.
Scheduling the Best
• CU has played seven top-25 opponents this season (1-5-1 record).
• Last season the Buffs faced eight nationally-ranked opponents (2-5-1), the most they have faced in a season in school history.
• CU also faced eight ranked opponents in 2006 (2-4-2) and seven in 2007 (0-6-1), the previous highs in that category.

Broadcast Information
• CU's season finale at Utah on Friday will be televised on Pac-12 Mountain.
• Rich Cellini will handle the play-by-play call and Tracey Bailey will provide the color commentary for Friday's broadcast.
Scouting the Utes (6-10-3, 3-7-0 Pac-12)
• Utah has dropped six of its past seven matches, earning a 2-1 overtime victory against Arizona State on Oct. 30 for its lone win during that stretch.
• Natalie Vukic leads the team with four goals and 11 points with three assists.
• Paola van der Veen has a team-high four assists and has one goal for six points.
• Lindsey Luke has started all 19 matches in goal and has a 1.24 GAA and .782 save percentage, notching four clean sheets.
• Mariah Elmer, a Pac-12 All-Freshman selection last season, scored three goals in the first nine matches, but has missed the past 10 matches.
Bonus Soccer
• The Buffaloes have played in six overtime matches already this season, posting a 2-1-3 record in those contests.
• Five of the six have been played at home and just one on the road.
• CU's 3-3 tie with No. 21 Arizona on Oct. 30 was the highest-scoring draw in school history, topping several 2-2 ties that the Buffs have played in.
• The tie with No. 21 Arizona was the first time since 2005 the Buffs have tied after leading by two goals (led 2-0 and 3-1; previous time Sept. 2, 2005 at Denver, led 2-0 and tied 2-2).
Tight Matches
• CU has played in nine matches decided by one goal to go with three ties, posting a 4-5-3 record in those matches.
• The Buffs have dropped their past four matches that were decided by one goal.
Sharing Scoring Opportunities
• 10 different Buffs have scored at least one goal this season and six have tallied more than two goals through 19 matches.
Newcomers Making an Impact
• Freshmen Erin Greening, Sarah Kinzner, Brooklyn Varnadore, Alex Vidger and Stephanie Zuniga along with Portland transfer Danica Evans have each stepped up, playing important roles this season, whether starting or coming off the bench.
• The group of newcomers have combined for 47 starts, nine goals, five assists and 105 shot attempts, or 38 percent of the team's goals and 40 percent of the team's shots.
• Redshirt freshman Scout Watson has started four of the past seven matches in goal and has a 1.89 GAA and .529 save percentage on the season in six appearances.
Junior Brie Hooks
• Hooks continues to be a leader for the Buffs in her junior year.
• She is first on the team with five goals and five assists for 15 points, and also leads the team in shot attempts (62).
• Her goal against Iowa State earlier this season moved her into sixth place on the all-time scoring list.
• Hooks ranks third in the Pac-12 in assists, eighth in goals and points, and fifth in shot attempts.
• She's climbined the career record books at CU as well, ranking fourth in game-winning goals, fifth in points and assists, sixth in goals and ninth in shot attempts.
Series History
vs. Utah
• CU is 7-2-1 all-time vs. Utah and 1-2-0 in matches played in Salt Lake City.
• Brie Hooks scored in last season's 2-0 win at home.
• Madi Krauser has two career assists vs. Utah and Emily Paxton has one.
