September 29, 2015 | Cross Country
NEW ORLEANS – The Buffaloes haven't raced since September 4, but both University of Colorado cross country teams are ranked quite high in this week's USTFCCCA Poll.
The men's team has been ranked first all season long and has been the unanimous No. 1 team in the poll since the start of the 2014 season. The women moved up to second this week after being picked third in the previous two polls. They have steadily climbed since starting fourth in the preseason rankings.
The top four spots in the men's poll stayed the same with Stanford, Syracuse and Wisconsin holding strong. Pac-12 rival Oregon moved up one spot to fifth in this week's poll, ousting Oklahoma State from the top five. CU's men also stayed on top of the regional poll which was released on Monday.
The women's team is ranked second behind New Mexico in the national and regional polls. Providence jumped up from eighth to third overall and Stanford moved up from fifth to fourth this week. Oregon is also a top-five program this week, moving up from seventh.
The Buffs will be in action this Saturday, October 3, at the 30th Annual Rocky Mountain Shootout. The women's 5.8-kilometer race will start at 9 a.m., while the men's 8k run is scheduled for a 9:45 a.m. start.
