Klecker, Morley Named Athlete of the Week

This week's Athlete of the Week honors go to Joe Klecker (men's cross country) and Makena Morley (women's cross country). Redshirt freshman Joe Klecker had the best race of his CU career to date, placing third overall at the NCAA Mountain Region Championship last Saturday. Klecker finished his first collegiate 10k race in 30:59.20, guiding the second-ranked Buffs to a second-place team finish. CU recorded 76 points, just 16 behind top-ranked Northern Arizona (60).

Sophomore Makena Morley led the Buffs to their fourth straight NCAA Mountain Region Championship after tying for fourth place overall last Saturday. Morley finished in 20:19.90, tying with Air Force's Jaci Smith. Morley helped the top-ranked Buffs to a score of 35, handily defeating the reigning NCAA Champion, New Mexico (109), by 74 points.
