Ormeño Ruiz Jumps Back Into National Rankings

SKLLMAN, N.J. - Colorado tennis player Nuria Ormeño Ruiz moved back into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's national singles rankings this week.

Ormeño Ruiz is ranked No. 120 and has been ranked as high as No. 74 this season, but dropped out of last week's rankings. She is coming off a straight-set victory over Utah's Margo Pletcher. Overall, she has a 22-12 singles record and has seven wins as the team's No. 1 singles player. Her 22 wins are the 28th-most in CU single-season history.

For her career, she currently sits 24th with 60 wins and 19th in singles winning percentage at .632. She has 99 combined singles and doubles wins, ranking 31st all-time.

CU will compete at the Pac-12 Tennis Championships starting Thursday in Ojai, Calif.
