QUOTABLE (Head Coach Mark Wetmore)
Opening Statement
"Well at this time of the year, our aspirations are to make progress towards performances that can help us on a PAC-12 level as well as beginning to attain NCAA First Round qualifying marks.
Ā
On the hurdle performances
Jaron's short hurdles will probably be an NCAA regional mark. So that might be the highlight of the weekend. In general, I think the hurdlers had a good weekend. They won both divisions of the short hurdles. Eriana [Henderson] looked good in her first outdoor race for us, particularly in the long race. Those guys going 1-2-3 in the men's 400 hurdles all in the upper 52's or low 53's. Ā They are not marks that will make it to regionals, but really good for March 18th marks.
Ā
On other standout performances
Rajon [O'Quinn] looked great in the 200m. Ā Another step or two for her, and that might get her into the regionals. Ā Although I would anticipate that her getting into the high jump at that level won't be difficult either. So lots of other winners today, we always want winners. We had a great weekend weather-wise. I would say we are ahead of where we would reasonably want to be at this point in march.
Ā
UP NEXT
The Buffs will hit the road next weekend and head to Fort Collins for the Fum McGraw meet on March 25-15.
