Colorado Sends Four to ITA Regional Championships

BOULDER — The University of Colorado women's tennis team has four players competing in the 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships this week in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the UNLV campus.
Senior Annabelle Andrinopoulos is joined by a trio of new Buffs; Monica Malinen, Vera Markovic and Megan Forster, in the annual fall championship. Andrinopoulos will be opening the 2018 season after missing the Colorado Invitational two weeks ago.
The Buffs will all be playing in the 128-player singles competition. Malinen leads the quartet with a 2-1 record in singles play this fall, while Forster and Markovic each are 1-2.
CU will also enter a pair of doubles teams in the 64-team field. Malinen and Markovic will team up again after going 3-1 together in the Colorado Invitational. Forster and Andrinopoulos will compete with one another for the first time this season.
Wednesday's first round gets under way with doubles at 9:00 a.m. PT and a full round of singles will follow. There will be consolation draws in singles to ensure each entrant at least two matches.
The finals are set for Sunday. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
