Women Stay First, Men Move Up To Eighth In Latest USTFCCCA Poll

BOULDER — The University of Colorado women's cross country team remained the top-ranked team in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll this week, while the men's team moved up three positions to eighth.

The CU women recorded nine of 11 first-place votes for 322 points. Boise State stayed at second this week, just eight points (314) back from CU, and New Mexico (313) remained third and is just nine points behind the Buffs. Rounding out the top five is Oregon and Arkansas, respectively.

The men moved back into the top 10 this week, jumping over Colorado State, Air Force and Syracuse after a third-place team performance at NCAA Pre-Nationals.

There was no change in the top two spots of the poll as Northern Arizona and BYU stayed one and two, respectively. For the second straight poll, Wisconsin stayed at third, but there was slight movement behind the Badgers as Stanford moved up one spot to fourth, and Portland fell one position to fifth.

In the regional polls, the CU women are ranked first, while the men moved up from fifth to third this week,

The Buffs are gearing up for postseason action, which starts on October 26 at the Pac-12 Championships in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal will host the races at Stanford Golf Course.
