February 18, 2018 | Tennis

BOULDER – Colorado's bid for its third-best start in program history came up short as the Kansas State Wildcats defeated the Buffs 4-1 here Sunday at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Complex. CU dropped to 5-1 overall while Kansas State improves to 5-1.

"Kansas State is the best team we have played so far. " head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "We knew it was going to be a good match. Hats off to KSU for playing the bigger points better. We definitely put ourselves in the right spot and we will get back to work on adjusting to those situations.  We know we will be playing a lot of matches of this quality, we can learn from today and utilize in preparation for next week vs. Wichita State."

WHAT HAPPENED - Doubles Clinched
The Buffs kicked off the day clinching the doubles point to go up 1-0. Although Louise Ronaldson and Jeannez Daniel dropped a 6-3 doubles loss at the No. 1 position, the Buffs got victories with both No. 2 and 3 doubles.
