Buffs Gear Up For Two-Match Weekend

BOULDER – The University of Colorado Tennis team continues its five-match homestand this weekend against the Sacramento State Hornets on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Boise State Broncos on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Buffaloes earned its third straight win of the season last weekend, toppling Air Force, 4-3.
Senior Kyra Wojcik led CU by clinching both the doubles point and entire match during singles play.
Freshman Linda Huang and Wojcik battled Meredith Laskey and Carley Hatcliff of Air Force. Huang and Wojcik were down 5-1 early, but battled back to find the 7-5 victory to clinch the doubles point.
In singles play, Wojcik took down Air Force's Hatcliff, 6-0, 6-2, to clinch the match. Huang and sophomore Chloe Hule were the other Buffs to pick up wins against their respective AFA opponents.
Huang, Wojcik and junior Ilana Oleynik all remain undefeated this season in singles play, while Wojcik and Oleynik are the only Buffs that are undefeated in both singles and doubles matches.
Sacramento State is 1-3 this spring season, having defeated North Dakota, 5-2, and features a roster of six lower classmen (two sophomores, four freshmen) and just two upperclassmen (one junior and one senior).
Boise State is 2-1 this season with wins over Whitman (7-0) and Lewis-Clark State (7-0) and also has a young roster with seven underclassman and just one senior.
