Buffs Place 25 on MPSF All-Academic Team

Twenty-five members of the men’s and women’s track and field teams were named to the 2018 MPSF All-Academic Team.
BOULDER – The University of Colorado track and field team had 25 student-athletes qualify for the 2018 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic indoor teams. Fourteen women qualified, and 11 men.
Michaela Wenning leads the women's group with a 3.98 GPA. Wenning is studying chemical and biological engineering, with a minor in philosophy and applied mathematics. Senior Erin Clark made the team for the second year in a row. Clark is currently pursuing her master's degree in educational foundations, policy and practice and holds a 3.76 GPA.
Ben Saarel, a senior engineering physics major, leads the men's team with a 3.98 GPA. This is the third year Saarel has been named to the team. Sophomore Caleb Penner followed closely behind with a 3.97 GPA. Penner is studying applied mathematics and engineering physics.
To qualify for the MPSF All-Academic team, each student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.0, must be a sophomore academically, must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received, and must have competed in at least fifty percent of the institution's competition in their respective sport.
2018 MPSF All-Academic Men's Team:
