Preseason Competition Results For The Buffs Ski Teams

January 14, 2019 | Skiing

BOULDER—While the regular season has begun and most of one meet has been completed, the Buffs have been on the snow for the better part of six weeks now.  With a little break between the season opening CU Invitational and the MSU Invitational later this week, below are the final results from the Buffs preseason competition, which ran right up to the CU Invitational for alpine and into the CU Invitational for the Nordic teams.

Some of the highlights include three World Cup GS finishes for Mikaela Tommy, plus two other wins, one in GS and one in slalom.  Nora Christensen had two great weekends, one in slalom and another in GS, where she won a race and finished second in the other.  Hedda Baangman participated in Scandanivan Cup Races and also had a top 10 along with Sondre Bollum in Supertour action at West Yellowstone in December, and the Buffs had five top 10 performances there in November.  Joey Young had a solid run including a second and ninth place slalom finishes at Loveland.  Max Luukko won a giant slalom race at Eldora two days before the collegiate season began and Alvar Alev qualified for both the sprint finals at the US National Championships, bringing home two top 20 finishes.  Anne Siri Lervik took 13th and Christina Rolandsen 14th at the US National Championships in the freestyle race.
