MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The University of Colorado women's tennis team picked up its first doubles point of the season to roll to a 5-2 victory over the University of Montana Sunday morning in the Courtside Classic at the University of Minnesota.
Â
"I'm pleased with our showing today," said head coach Danielle Steinberg. "It's been a tough stretch and we were definitely a bit tired today, but I am happy with our focus and energy to finish this stretch on a high note."
Â
Colorado (3-2) was dominate top-to-bottom in the win as the women took the No.2 and No.3 doubles wins by the score of 6-2 and secure the team point before the No.1 finished. The freshman duo of Megan Forster and Sara Nayar took the win over Lauren Dunlap and Lidia Dukic as the No.2 team, while Annabelle Andrinopoulos and Ky Ecton teamed up to take down Nathalie Joanlanne and Walker in the No.3 doubles match. The Buffs were on their way to a third victory as the No.1 team of Monica Malinen and Tallulah Farrow were up 5-2 on Julia Ronney and Bianca Bostrom before the set was abandoned.
Â
Moving on to the singles, Colorado picked up easy victories in the No.2, No.3, No.4 and No.6 positions. Forster walked away with a 6-1, 6-1 win as the No.3 single against Bostrom. Ecton also had a dominating performance in the No.6 position against Claudia Reguant by way of 6-1, 6-2.
Â
In the No.2 singles match, Nayar battled to a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Dunlap. Malinen also picked up the win against Joanlanne 6-4, 6-1 in the No. 4 position.

Farrow had the same first set score as Andrinopoulos as she battled closely with Dukic, but lost the second 6-3 as well.
Â
