The junior won the event with a toss of 53.72 meters (176-3). The other winner was Elisa Grandemange who threw the fifth-farthest mark in her life at 57.19 meters (187-7).

The Buffs had four new comers open their careers today in Buff jerseys outdoors. Tyler Sconce opened with a seventh place finish in the hammer throw, while combined event athletes Josh Farmer and Wyatt Rhoads threw the javelin today. Henry Carlson also competed for the first time and placed seventh in the javelin at 50.41 meters (165-5).

Also for Colorado, Cheyenne Cheshier picked up the win in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.23 meters (36-10.25).
