Throws Set Two Top-10 Marks
AUSTIN, Texas – Colorado track and field advanced both 4x400 relays through from prelims Friday afternoon in the Texas Relays as the women finished sixth and the men fifth.

The women's squad of Valerie Welch, Eriana Henderson, Tamia Badal and Abbey Glynn ran 3:45.69 to win the second heat of the prelims and advance to finals with the sixth-best time. The men's quartet of Ronald Sayles, Aaron McCoy, Ian Gilmore and Tyler Williams finished second in their heat in a time of 3:11.06 to qualify with the fifth-best time. Both relays will compete again tomorrow in the collegiate finals.

Three Buffs also hurdled today, led by Badal's 35th place in the women's 100 hurdles in 14.20. Reese Renz finished 47th in 14.71 as Kellen Monestime ran 14.92 in the men's 110 to finish 44th.

In Colorado, the Buffs started throwing at the CSU-Pueblo Spank Blasing meet. Dominique Williams placed third in the men's hammer with a toss of 58.94 meters (193-04), good for sixth in CU history. Tyler Sconce threw 55.49 meters (182-00) to place seventh, good for 10th in school history.
