Buffs Impress Heading Into Winter Break

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Colorado track and field program closed out the weekend at UCCS with the men competing in the heptathlon here Saturday. All four Colorado men set personal records in several events ahead of the winter break.Â
Leading the Buffs was Nicholas Bianco who placed third in the heptathlon with a personal best score of 5411. He also set personal records in the 60m, long jump and high jump.
Troy Colleran, competing unattached this weekend, finished fourth in the heptathlon, setting a new PR by almost 300 points. His previous best heptathlon score came at last year's Pre-Holiday Multi.Â
John Swabik set personal records in all but two events in the heptathlon while placing second in the long jump with a mark of 7.16m (23'6").Â
Competing in just his second meet as a Buff, Drake Miller set personal bests in every event he was in and managed a six-place finish in the heptathlon.
Colorado will be back in action on Jan 12-13 to host the Potts Invitational in its first home meet of the season.
