Jade Masogayo vs Montana State

Buffs Fall by One to Bobcats, 71-70

November 30, 2025 | Women's Basketball

Senior forward Jade Masogayo reached 1000 career points

BOULDER – Colorado women's basketball (5-3, 0-0 Big 12) fell to Montana State (5-1, 0-0 Big Sky), 71-70, at the CU Events Center on Sunday, Nov. 30.

The Buffs continued their home competition after a week of travel, falling short by just a point against the Bobcats. Maintaining a close lead throughout all four quarters, the Black and Gold recorded 43 points in the first half, leading the Bobcats by nine heading into halftime. Colorado continued in the second, recording 27 points and gaining their largest lead of 13 points in the third quarter. Of the 27 second-half points, Jade Masogayo recorded 1,000 career points in the third quarter at her 11th point of the game. Moving into the final quarter, Desiree Wooten's and-one in the last nine seconds put the Buffs up by one point, but Colorado ultimately fell short from a Montana State layup.

"I thought we played hard tonight," head coach JR Payne stated. "We always do, but I thought overall execution just wasn't what it needed to be. When we were able to get a shot, we got good looks at the basket. Even towards the end, we had some layups and things that we missed but overall, just lots to learn in the details of game planning and execution. It's still a young season, but this one really stings, and we have to make sure we learn from it."

The Buffs recorded an overall field-goal percentage of 49.0% and a free-throw percentage of 78.3%. Colorado had more rebounds (35-31), assists (14-8), and blocks (5-2) than Montana State.
