BOULDER – The Colorado women's basketball team (15-8, 6-5 Big 12) hosts No. 14/12 TCU (21-3, 9-2 Big 12) this weekend at CU Events Center on Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. MT.
The Buffs are hungry for their first win over the Horned Frogs since returning to the Big 12. Last season, CU came close in the Big 12 Championship quarterfinals, losing by just seven points to TCU, 69-62 (Mar. 7, 2025). The Buffs last beat the Frogs on home turf in 2014, 78-71 (Mar. 19).
On Wednesday, the Black and Gold went up against No. 20 West Virginia in a dogfight (Feb.4). Neither team's largest lead exceeded single digits as the game saw nine lead changes. Both teams saw a slower third quarter, with neither scoring more than 10 points as the defense took charge. The Buffs came within two in the fourth quarter, but West Virginia went on a final run to win the game, 61-55.

BIG 12 POWs: Jr. G Zyanna Walker (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Heights HS) was named to the Big 12 Women's Basketball Starting Five as a Top Performer this week, the Conference announced Monday, Feb. 2. Walker earns her first conference weekly recognition of her career, as well as the Buffs' first in the 2025-26 season. Walker posted a double-double in the Buffs' victory over her former school, Kansas State, with 13 points and 10 rebounds – her first double-double of the season and second of her career (Jan. 29). Versus KSU, she also had four steals and two assists. Walker also played a key role in CU's overtime win over Kansas on Sunday, registering a career-high 24 points, as well as four rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks (Feb. 1). Walker's contributions were integral to Colorado's victories, helping the program see its first road sweep since the 2023-24 season. Last week, Walker averaged 37.2 minutes per game. 46.4% from the field, 18.5 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game and 3.5 steals per game.
#17 BETSON: So. F Tabitha Betson returned to the Buffs towards the end of nonconference games. After spending some much-needed time at home, Betson was on the CU the bench against Miami (OH) in her first game back -- coming in for seven minutes versus the RedHawks. In 2024-25, Betson was the Big 12 Preseason Freshman of the Year, and prior to her time at CU, she represented Australia in the U17 World Cup (2022). In high school, she was ranked No. 48 in ESPN's Top 100 for the class of 2024 and she was a McDonald's All-America nominee.

She scored a career-high 24 points against Kansas, adding four rebounds, three steals, and two assists (Feb. 1) and aided the Buffs at KU and earlier in the week with a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) at K-State (Jan. 29).
- Sr. F Anaëlle Dutat is third in the Big 12 for rebounds per game (8.3), and she is second the conference for total offensive rebounds (85) and leads in offensive rebounds per game (3.7). She is also tied for 14th for steals per game (1.8).
- Sr. F Jade Masogayo is 15th in conference for free throw percentage (76.1%) and tied for 18th for blocks per game (0.8). Masogayo had 13 points, five rebounds, one assist and a block versus the Mountaineers (Feb. 4).
- Jr. G Desiree Wooten is tied for 24th in the conference in points per game (12.1) and tied for 23rd for steals per game (1.6). She had 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals against WVU on Wednesday (Feb. 4).
- As a team, the Buffs are fourth in the Big 12 for rebounding margin (6.3), fourth for steals per game (10.39), fourth for offensive rebounds per game (13.6), sixth for scoring defense (60.3), seventh for rebounds per game (38.8), seventh for turnover margin (2.17) and seventh for free throw percentage (72.9%).
