2013 Spring (freshman): Won three singles matches during her initial season • Played No. 5 and No. 6 singles • Triumphed in her first career collegiate match on Feb. 17 against Loyola Marymount in straight sets.

2012 Fall (freshman): Secured four doubles match victories • First CU tennis scholarship student-athlete hailing from southern California since 2005 • Signed her National Letter of Intent November 2011 • Listed as a five-star recruit from the state of California.

El Toro HS: Played No. 1 singles helping the Chargers to their first-ever league championship in girls’ tennis • Achieved a 29-1 league record, in addition to becoming the Sea View League singles champion • Named to the Orange County Register All-Star Dream Team.

Junior Tennis: Ranked in the women’s southern California top-10 • Ranked No. 50 among seniors in the Girls' Class of 2012 Top-100 Advanced to the 2012 Ojai Valley (Calif.) Junior Tournament quarterfinals • Champion G16s, Roxy Junior Championships, Palm Desert (2010) • Semi-finalist G16s, Dunlop Championships, Palm Desert (2009) • Finalist CR G14s, Wilson Championships, Palm Desert (2008).

Personal: Born on July 7, 1994 in Laguna Hills, Calif. • Nickname is Mazy • Daughter of Scott and Kasey Watrous • Has a younger brother, Mitchell, a high school freshman • Enjoys playing the piano and bass guitar • Models in her spare time and writes for the online fashion magazine UnleashedBeauty.com • She says music and history are silent passions of her life • Was home-schooled for five years before enrolling at El Toro for her senior year • Lists one of her biggest moments of prep career was winning the Roxy National Championships. “Winning that title gave me the momentum and inspiration to never give up in a match. I was down 0-6 and came back to win it in the third! It was also the beginning of a great relationship with Roxy Athletix, I will miss that.” • Watrous also said winning the inaugural Michael Chang Championship was another highlight. “He’s an inspiration to me as a person and an athlete.”
