2008 OUTLOOK: Allison was an accomplished middle distance and track runner for her high school in South Dakota. She will do multiple duties for us everywhere from 800-3,000-meters, potentially on a varsity level for the Big 12 meet in May.

CROSS COUNTRY: Eckert was one of three freshman on the varsity roster for the Buffs. She made her collegiate debut at the Rocky Mountain Shootout where Eckert finished 15th overall. She scored for the Buffs at pre-nats, placing 97th. She competed in both the conference and regional championship, placing 61st at the conference meet.

HIGH SCHOOL: Eckert was a decorated runner at RHS, earning seven state championships. She was a two-time cross country All-American, three times on the track. Eckert was a four-time selection to the all-state cross country team and once in track. But it was her junior season she picked up the most honors. Eckert won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter state titles. Eckert set the state and RHS 3,200 record at 10:19 the same season. She was named the South Dakota High School Coaches Association Outstanding Track Girl in Class AA, the Class AA State Meet MVP and the Gatorade Athlete of the Year. Eckert was a three-time qualifier for Foot Locker Nationals. She earned her best finish in 2004 when she was 22nd overall. At the regionals, she was seventh (’04) and sixth in 2005 and ’06. Eckert was also the Rim Rock Farm and Roy Griak course champion as a senior. Eckert owns two cross country course records, the state course (14:22) and Rim Rock Farm (14:12), both of which are 4k. She was a member of the Distance Medley Relay team that placed third at Nike Indoor Nationals and was on the 4x800 team which placed second in 2006. Eckert lists her biggest moment in high school as winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs at the state meet her junior year and setting the 3,200 record earlier in the season with no competition. She also owns the RHS record in the 800 (2:11.2). Eckert earned three letters on the tennis team. She played on the No. 1 doubles team and was No. 2 singles and earned all-conference recognition. Eckert was also recruited by Stanford, Arkansas, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

ACADEMICS: Eckert intends to major in pre-med at Colorado and is interested in medical school. She was an academic all-conference selection and an honor roll student in high school.
