2003 Track & Field: Both an indoor and outdoor participant, Dillon took part in the 800, 1,500, mile and 5,000-meter events, as well as the distance medley relay during the indoor season. Indoors, he secured two of the top four team marks in the 800-meter, finishing in 11th place on consecutive days of the Air Force Invite with a best time of 1:57.48. In the indoor mile, Dillon capture a team-best 4:12.96 in a fifth-lace showing at the Frank Sevigne Invite. In the distance medley relay, Dillon’s team took second place (9:50.50) at the Big 12 Championships in February. Outdoors, he bested his 800-meter indoor time with a 1:56.87 in a sixth place finish at the CU Twilight event. In the 1,500-meter, he tallied a season-best 3:52.23 at the Pepsi Team Invite, but recorded his top finish with a third place score (3:53.12) at the Jack Christensen Invitational. Running the 5,000-meter in just one event, Dillon claimed 22nd place at the Big 12 Championships with a 15:19.28. Indoors, Dillon finished seventh in the preliminaries of the 1,000-meter run at the Big 12 Championships. He also ran in the indoor mile and 600-yard runs during the season. Dillon ran the outdoor 800-meter with his top time of 1:57.20 coming in a fourth place finish at the Jack Christensen Invitational. He finished fifth in the 1,500-meters at the Mt. SAC Relays with a season-best 3:55.12.
High School: In cross-country, Dillon was the 1998 and 2000 Northern Conference League Champion and a 4A all-state performer his freshman through senior campaigns. As a freshman he was an All-Northern Conference League performer in cross-country and qualified for the state championships where he finished 28th. On the track he was all state in the mile, and finished sixth in the 1,600 and seventh in the 3,200 at the ?98 state championships. His sophomore season he was the All-Northern League champion and fifth in state during the fall and was the 1,600-m state champion on the track while taking third in the 3,200-m. During his junior track season he set the 4A state record en route to winning the 800-m in 1:53.3, runner-up in the 1,600-m, fourth in the 3,200 and fifth in the mile. As a junior he competed in the Junior Olympics in Omaha, Neb. and was the 1,500-m champion. At the National Scholastic meet in Raleigh, N.C., he finished seventh in the mile and at Golden West he finished fourth in the 800 and fifth in the mile. A five-sport athlete at Sterling, he also lettered in golf and baseball (his freshman year). He graduated holding prep records in the 800-m (1:53.3), 1,600-m (4:13.2) and 3,200-m (9:31.5) and as a member of the 4x800-m relay team. Stanford, Nebraska and Georgetown also recruited him.
