HIGH SCHOOL: Barchet was a 2012 All-American in cross country after finishing 21st at Nike Cross Nationals. He also earned All-American status on the track in 2013 and ’14 as a member of the 4xmile relay team. He is the HHS 1,600-meter record holder after running 4:09.78 and Barchet’s personal best in the 3,200 is 9:03. While running for the Warriors, he helped the team to four league championships, four district titles and a pair of state championships (2012, ’13). Barchet earned first-team all-state honors in 2013 and was third-team all-state in 2012. He was named to the all-district and all-league first teams as a junior and senior. Barchet was also recruited by Stanford, Harvard and Georgetown.
HIGH SCHOOL BESTS: 1,600-meters: 4:09.78; 3,200-meter: 9:03.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Barchet intends to major in physics and is also interested in astronomy.
PERSONAL: Reinhold Andrew Barchet was born on December 6, 1995. He is the son of Ron and Linda Barchet of Downingtown, Pa. He has three siblings, Alissa, Gordon and Erin.
