BOULDER
- Blair Wilson scored 22 points, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, to pace six players in double figures as Colorado opened its season with a 97-69 romp over Cal Poly on Friday night.

David Harrison added 18 points, six rebounds, and collected a career-best six blocked shots, while Michel Morandais scored 15 for Colorado, which shot an identical 56 percent (19 of 34) in each half.

Varnie Dennis led Cal Poly with 27 points, also hitting 5-of-7 3-pointers.

Wilson scored 15 points in the first half on 5-of-5 shooting, including 4-of-4 from 3-point distance, as Colorado cruised to a 52-30 halftime lead.

Wilson had 12 of the Buffaloes' first 16 points. His back-to-back 3-pointers triggered a 32-6 run that erased an 11-10 deficit and produced a 42-17 lead with 4:39 left in the half.

Freshman Jayson Obazuaye had a 3-pointer and Harrison a three-point play during the spurt. Wilson, Harrison and Morandais each had seven points in the flurry.

Cal Poly, which hit five of its first six shots, hit only two of its next 12.

Wilson hit another 3-pointer early in the second half to put Colorado up 61-32.

The Buffaloes extended their lead to 37 points, 82-45, by scoring 16 straight points, including 10 by junior-college transfer Lamar Harris.

The Mustangs shot 40 percent and were outrebounded 46-29.
