WOMEN'S TENNIS SPLITS WITH DENVER

The Buffaloes are hosting Auburn, Denver, and the Notre Dame in the three-day tournament with Sunday's play remaining. Although there is no official team scoring in the fall season, individual singles and doubles matches are counted toward individual national rankings during the fall.
The Buffaloes recorded singles with against the Pioneers at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and the No. 6 positions. Junior Jessica Vanderdys defeated Suzana Maksovic, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2; Kendra Strandemo won at No. 3, defeating Jenny Trettin, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2; and freshman Gleisy Torres Torres won her first collegiate match defeating Barbara Kourim also in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
CU secured its fourth point on the day as Jenny Hanson defeated Marisa Mechem in straight-sets, 6-2, 6-4.
In doubles, the CU women lost all four matches to Notre Dame.
The final day of the CU Invitational concludes on Sunday with CU taking on Auburn, while the Fighting Irish plays Denver. Both singles matches begin at 9:30 a.m.
Doubles wraps up the day with CU playing DU, Notre Dame facing Auburn.
