Vanderdys Falls at Central Region Semifinals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah ? Senior Jessica Vanderdys won her quarterfinal match Saturday morning, then lost her bid for the finals later in the day, losing to fourth seeded Olga Boulytcheva of BYU in the semis, 6-3, 6-4 at the Wilson ITA Central Region Championships hosted by the University of Utah.
Vanderdys, who had won five straight matches en route to the semifinals, is off to her best start of her collegiate career in the fall season with a 10-3 record. She has also won 61 career singles matches becoming the 18th woman in school history to win that many over a four-year career.
In the other quarterfinal match, CU standout freshman Monica Milewski fell in straight sets to Tamara Kvaratshelia (Kansas State), 6-1, 6-3. Milewski ends her initial central region tournament with a 3-1 record and is 9-3 on the year.
